This lauriat necklace is a tribute piece to A. Philip Randolph, who labor organizer, a journalist, and a civil rights leader active from 1917 to his death in 1979. He has been quoted saying “freedom is not given, it is won.” The center of the lauriat is a hollow box form with a sun burst on the back that symbolizes the dawning of a day where we will be free from systemic racism. Tanzanite is the stone at the center which is said to help open you to a new way of looking at the world. It is surrounded above and below by kyanite, a stone that will inspire loyalty and fair treatment to others and helps to provide a link to transmitting and receiving healing energy. Dangling below are kyanite, tanzanite and quartz gemstones along with the hand stamped name of the man this necklace tributes. All the stones are surrounded by sterling silver and all findings are handmade.
