Item description:

The sterling silver asymmetrical charm featured a small 3mm London Blue Topaz faceted gemstone with a charcoal backdrop. Pendant is highlighted with hammered marks and suspending from two tone chains in sterling silver and 14K gold filled. Pendant is 1 1/8”wide x 1” long, chain is 18”. As one of the Big 6 leaders of our nation, Roy Wilkins, nicknamed “The Gentle Giant”, graduated from the University of Minnesota. He took an active part in the civil rights movement, leading to victories in the Brown v. Board of Education, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Roy participated in both the March on the Washington1963, the Selma to Montgomery march, and March Against Fear. Roy retired from serving as Executive Director of the NAACP in 1977 and died 1981.
