This piece is dedicated to the memory of musician and civil rights activist, Nina Simone. The stones in this pieces are agate (encourages speaking one's truth) and moonstone (represents feminine energy). On the back are stamped the words “no fear.” During an interview, Nina was asked what freedom meant to her. Her response was: “I'll tell you what freedom is to me. No fear.” Below the words are piano keys, Nina's most powerful tool during the civil rights movement and throughout her career. A tag with her name hangs from the end of the chain. Sterling and fine silver, agate and moonstone. Pendant measures 2 inches in length and 1.75 inches wide. Chain is 16 inches with a 4-inch extender, allowing the necklace to be clasped anywhere between 16 and 20 inches.
